Still so unreal about his passing, but eternally grateful for his music. For its him, MJ, Whitney, Sade, and Janet we’re the soundtracks of my life. Will be purchasing another album to my collections.

He was cremated, so I’m not exactly sure that his ashes were placed in a grave.

This is really great for him. If “Purple Rain” (the single) finally goes #1 on the Hot 100 after all of these years, that would be incredibly epic.

    • JOHNVIDAL April 26, 2016

I don´t think so but with the new rules about streaming since 2012, there´s a chance. I will always love you went as high as #2 in 2012. Like I said it should be a little bit easier in 2016. Still, I think it won´t happen. The album slayage is enough anyway.

  9. LB April 26, 2016

This is mind blowing, I never thought Prince had this much of an impact but I guess S****** Blonde was right, Prince > Michael Jackson.

Really miss the guy, he had a knack of seeing these trends.

    • rosy3 April 26, 2016

But you have to ask no one bought this man music for years when he released new material and people ignored his music

      • LB April 26, 2016

That is a good point, it seems people are just more band-wagoners nowadays. Everyone wants to jump on the hype train.

    • JOHNVIDAL April 26, 2016

Your point is retarded. S****** always said that when talking about talent for making music. Not about success. Michael was obviously more successful and his sales after his death were so much higher than this. So tell us how your argument makes any sense please.
Although before this events you probably thought Rihanna has had more impact in music than Prince so… I rest my case 🙂

    • Royalkev April 26, 2016

Aside from Elvis, I believe MJ and Prince’s impact is ALMOST neck and neck! MJ is hard to top, he’s just surpassed everyone’s success (sales wise). I’d personal have to say that Prince and MJ lead the pack though (as far as male solo acts from the 70’s onward are concerned). Of course Stevie, Bowie, Elton, Billy Joel and several other are up there also!

    • SMH April 26, 2016

Boy stop. Michael sold twice that amount in less time when he died.

      Michael will ALWAYS be>>>>>>prince

  10. Anne April 26, 2016

Wow! Glad he is getting the recognition he deserves.

  11. LB April 26, 2016

Just been looking at some pictures of Prince and he really had beautiful skin. I wonder what he did for it remain so fair and flawless, really wonderful.

  12. Sam April 26, 2016

And the best things is that his estate gets all of his money as he managed to get his masters back before he passed.
As long as they ain’t shady like Pat Houston it’s all good.

  13. Ziggy Stardust April 26, 2016

Wow! This is great news. These people are not playing when it comes to his music! He’s been in the business close to 40 years, therefore his music is “timeless”. He’s my favorite artists/musician, so I’m going to miss him so much. Much love and respect to the legend, Prince.

  14. Dossome April 26, 2016

Can y’all believe there was a time Prince,Michael,Whitney,Madonna and Janet were the biggest music acts?I’ve been devastated since his passing but I’m glad I discovered, experienced, enjoyed and appreciated him long before he died

    • LB April 26, 2016

The rest are just jumping on the hype train but you’ve been ride or die with Prince since day 1, for that I respect you the most in this case.

      You’re the true MVP.

      • rosy3 April 26, 2016

When I think of prince I see Dave Chapelle playing basketball on the Dave Chapelle show I’m sorry but my mind had to go there

    • JOHNVIDAL April 26, 2016

I know. They don´t know what it´s like to have a mainstream music industry full of only talent. Not mediocre quick and forgettable beats with nonsinging models putting some “voclas”in them.
Whitney, Prince, Bruce, Michael, Madonna and on and on…

      • rosy3 April 26, 2016

Times change we live in a technology era do you expect these kids should care about old music each generation have their own idol I hate when people come on here talk about today music stfu prince was a w**** man drug out sexual back then I’m sure people were up in arms about his shananigans back in the day technology and paparazzi was not out that time to catch these drug out celebrities David bowie slept with everyone crack heroin whitney crack baby please don’t come for today youngest those past celebrities left no good example for these other stars to look up to they were worst now yall want to praise these heathens as if they were perfect foh

    • Royalkev April 26, 2016

Those are true pioneers that you’ve mentioned! It will never be this good collectively in the industry again, there’s only a handful of talented standouts these days! It’s sad that it’s not many to pass the torch to!

      • rosy3 April 26, 2016

For you that’s your taste not everyone like prince music or his s** up pump wearing look just because he wrote and played instruments which is talent but not everyone liked those type of music and yall did not spend no money on his albums 20 years all of a sudden he dies whitney Houston was mocked slander when she was alive where was whitney generation supporting her black people love you when u dead look at aliyah she was slander all the time by her own people because I can remember aliyah was going mainstream I’m not, feeding, into your hypocrisy

  17. JOHNVIDAL April 26, 2016

    That´s great. Only true legends!
I remember Whitney Houston sold one million ALBUMS the week after her death in the USA alone. Don´t know about singles but I remember I will Always Love You made it to #2 on the hot 100 in 2012. Just crazy.

    • HailCisus April 26, 2016

      When will Beyonce?

      • JOHNVIDAL April 26, 2016

I don´t care when or if since I´m not a Beyonce fan.

  18. Dossome April 26, 2016

His music wasn’t for everyone though.I wouldn’t be surprised if the bandwagoners deleted his music from their library a week from now.

I also don’t agree with the notion people didn’t buy his music while he was still alive. He was selling hundreds of thousands of albums, that’s pretty much what’s to be expected from an artist releasing 2/3/4/5 albums a year with little to no promo.Prior to his death, his music was non existent on all the popular streaming platforms. It was very hard for casual fans to get to discover him that’s probably why I never got mad when some of y’all ignorant jackasses used to attack me for stanning for “bootleg Michael Jackson” everytime I critiqued your faves when in reality those two are nothing alike save for the flamboyant lifestyles perhaps.

  19. Royalkev April 26, 2016

I’ll always see Prince as royalty! He’s one of the few artists that have a throne to sit on in my mind! When you measure impact, influence, artistry, talent … Prince will always be apart of a very exclusive club that rise to the top of the list!

  21. Del April 26, 2016

He was truly a one man band. He was a genius because his music still sounds great nearly 40 years after his debut CD was released. It’s no shock that his music is selling so well because it’s timeless. They didn’t call him “His Royal Badness” for nothing!
